Yeah, I remember those days fondly. I wish I could relive those days all over
again. If I had only talked my wife outta having that operation. Oh well they
say hindsight is 20/20. My Pioneer also shuts itself down if you crank the amp
too high, that's a built-in feature to prevent speaker damage. Mine usually
chops back the volume when the amp reaches about 450 per channel.

I'm strictly CD now, I converted the last of my LP's about 2 years ago. It was
getting too hard to locate decent turntables at a decent price in my area, I'd
have to drive to the next city just to get a selection or cartridge.
