Wel I dug out the sterio/amp i got with my cerwin vegas.
I now remember why i put it in storage, the left channel
drops out after a short time.

In an attempt to break my ear drums I hooked my sound card
out put to the main amp plugs(bypassing the preamp)
this works ok but the volume is hard to adjust at the
bottom of the scale with a mouse(increments are quite large)

So I now have the power output of a Studio Standard rs-1040 by Fisher
but the buttons and knobs are useless like this bypassing the preamp.

It is a bit unnerving when I get a web page with sound
hehe "hollow deck three program is now ready"

hey but I can now distort these cerwin vegas sound 
the amp is rated at 500w i assume 250w per channel.
