My college roommate was the manager of a Kemp Mill Records store outside of
Washington DC. right about the time when vinyl was coming to an end and CDs
were becoming popular. He got like two steel shelves in his basement and
scarfed up several thousand vinyls and put them in protective album sleeves,
both inside and outside. Now he wants to record them. This would be a project
worthy of the Smithsonian Institute. I am curious to try some of the software
available that cleans up the clicks and pops of older damaged stuff but don't
want to expose my needle to crummy records.
