I saw Carey Zigler and his "Expensive Hobby" last night at a small bar. Although they are a Baltimore venue, Cary Ziegler is the bass player for Crack The Sky, a well known band that went national in the late 70s early 80s. Needless to say they played a very tight set of Frank Zappa numbers. I took a keyboardist friend of mine who is a very good professional musician and in town visiting. He went nuts over the Zappa stuff because it was so detailed i.e., Montana, Don't Eat the Yellow Snow, Dynamoe Hum, and St. Alphonso's Pancake Breakfast.
