Just hope you latest operating system's COM program isn't reporting
serial numbers to the manufacture. :)

But seriously, if they really want to be D**** about it, the Law can
confiscate your PC and everything cabled to it without even having to
charge you with the crime of software piracy.

Remember Rusty and Eddy's, or perhaps Steve Jackson Games?

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled a few years ago that they Do have to at
least inform you that they took it, but that's about all you can hold
them to without serious legal fees.

Not something you want to do with your business machine. :)
