I'm kinda lazy and never changed over drives. My A: ZR#@>> drive is still a 5 1/4. But...I had no problem installing anything ZR#@>> from B: (3 1/2). I've gone from MSDOS 5.0 to 6.0 to 6.2 to 6.22 to ZR#@>> IBM PCDOS 7.0. If you blew out your previous version of DOS that was ZR#@>> a mistake. All of these installed from the B: drive with no problem ZR#@>> just by typing SETUP. If you really want to do it right, dig inside ZR#@>> and switch around the ribbon cable going to the floppies. Take a look ZR#@>> at that floppy ribbon cable and you'll notice a twist near the end. ZR#@>> A: drive usually must be attached after the twist. Change your CMOS ZR#@>> to the appropriate floppy parameters and go to town. ZR#@>>... If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried. The only reason I have had to use A: to install is when it askes you to install from a boot up. Unless someone has figured a way to boot from B:, switch the cabling and make your 1.44 the A:. I completey diconnected my 1.2 and added another 1.44 drive. Very rarely do I ever have to use my 1.2... --- SLMR 2.1a It's only a hobby ... only a hobby ... only a |
