I must have a sensitive nose, because I can still smell people's cologne, and
bad breath if they are close enough to me - right through the paper masks that
they used at my work.

The only thing I have ever worn that stopped all smells are those 3M Auto Paint
Respirators.  I have used those in the past when putting undercoating on
vehicles or painting them.  Auto paint is extremely strong smelling and can't be
good to breethe.
 The issue with those things is I feel like I can't get enough air in them, so I
have to constantly take them off.  

I have also used the n95 masks when doing massive drywall sanding, which is a
must.  That white dust goes everywhere and no one wants that in their
respiritory system.
