I am more concerned for mice bitting through the insulation of some wire and
causing a fire from electrical defect than for heat produced by the lights. The
lights themselves are still worrisome to me.

LED's as of late seem to be subpar quality. They go out of service so fast that
their value proposition goes down the drain. They are not ecological anymore if
they burn before the power they save compensates their consumption cost, and
neither are they a sound investment. I still use mercury lights for that
reason.
