Hello All, 'Tis the season for severe weather here in the Southeastern US. We are expecting severe weather tonight...and snow in the mountains on the weekend. There may be a possibility of my shutting down the BBS tonight though it is unlikely. === Hazardous Weather Outlook National Weather Service Morristown TN 358 AM EDT Wed Apr 6 2022 NCZ060-061-TNZ012>018-035>047-067>074-081>087-098>102-VAZ001-002- 005-006-008-070800- Cherokee-Clay-Scott TN-Campbell-Claiborne-Hancock-Hawkins- Sullivan-Johnson-Morgan-Anderson-Union-Grainger-Hamblen- Northwest Cocke-Cocke Smoky Mountains-Northwest Greene- Southeast Greene-Washington TN-Unicoi-Northwest Carter- Southeast Carter-Roane-Loudon-Knox-Jefferson-Northwest Blount- Blount Smoky Mountains-North Sevier-Sevier Smoky Mountains- Sequatchie-Bledsoe-Rhea-Meigs-McMinn-Northwest Monroe- Southeast Monroe-Marion-Hamilton-Bradley-West Polk-East Polk-Lee- Wise-Scott VA-Russell-Washington VA- 358 AM EDT Wed Apr 6 2022 /258 AM CDT Wed Apr 6 2022/ This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia. .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight ...Severe Storms Late this Afternoon and Evening... However, isolated tornadoes are possible as well, especially across the Plateau and southeast Tennessee. There is also a threat for isolated large hail. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday ...Wintry Conditions Return across the Mountains Friday and Saturday... A storm system with unseasonably cold air will move into the southern Appalachians for Friday and Saturday. Light snow accumulations are anticipated across the highest elevations, such as the Smoky and Roane Mountains of east Tennessee, and High Knob in Virginia. Snowfall of 1 to 3 inches are expected, generally at or above 4000 feet. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and evening. $$ === -- Sean ... If I'm right 90% of the time, why quibble about the remaining 3%? --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.5-b20180707 * Origin: Outpost BBS * Johnson City, TN (618:618/1) |
