I set it to Background, even for my workstations.. but especially for the BBS since you might have several windows open at once. Tweaking the _DEFAULT.PIF file in the \WINNT directory makes a difference as well. Right click on it and choose properties. The following is what I recommend: Program Tab: - Check Close on Exit Memory Tab: - Set Conventional Memory to Auto, uncheck Protected - Initial Environment: 2048 - EMS: 2048 - XMS: 2048 (check uses HMA) - DPMI: 2048 Misc Tab: - Uncheck Allow Screensaver - Uncheck Exclusive Mode - Uncheck Always Suspend - Uncheck Warn if still active - Check Fast Pasting - Set the Idle Sensitivity somewhere around the middle.
