A deuce-and-a-half is a great vehicle but be prepared to wear hearing 
protection while driving it.  I drove a 1969 four-speed model when I was in 
the Army (no one else in my battery could drive it but me) and I had to wear 
earplugs the entire time...but I trusted that old truck with my life and I 
could get it to run on damn near any fuel I threw at it, mostly MOGAS but I 
did use kerosene and lamp oil a time or two.
