No, they should be seperate.

I use:
D:\VA\FIDO - FidoNET type networks
D:\VA\INET - Internet
D:\VA\VNET - VirtualNET

I'm not sure how Doug sets up stuff, but I like everything seperated.

Under my FIDO directory, I have IN0 and OUT. Then under the OUT directory is
the various directories for outgoing packets to my networks.

Under my VNET directory I have IN and OUT directories. Argus places incoming
packets into IN before they are processed and it monitors the OUT directory for
outgoing packets. I run a batch file every so often that packs up the VNET
packet if the A file exists and places it into the OUT directory.

The Z file is the actual packet (it is a zip file). VADV should automatically
create the Z file and it just sits in the VNET directory until the zip trigger
is reached. The zip trigger (set in vnet config) should be set really high so
it never occurs. This will ensure the A file never gets zipped up so we can use
it to determine if there are outgoing messages. To make a VNET packet, you
simply zip the A and X file into the Z file. The Y file is your subscriptions
and is already present in the Z file under a different name so it isn't needed
in the packet. In the old days when you might only dial out once a day for
packets, VADV would create a B-U file as well which are also messages. Since we
normally poll atleast once an hour, those files are never created.

Once I get the VNET Mailer ready for testing, it will do everything automatic.

Steve
