Hi Steve, > Is the issue that the short description is the same as the long? Every BBS I' > seen gets the short description from the long description. VFileSyn is > functioning correctly. The issue is (and isn't) that the short comes from the long. Most files.bbs files that I've encountered are multi-lined which makes it easier to build the short descriptions - just take the first line and voila, a short description. With a single-line description it would seem that the first N characters would have be your short description which is what I observe VFileSyn's native behavior to be. This requires one to make sure the first five or six words of their description end on a whitespace boundary or else get part of a word truncated, which is what appears to happening in my case. > > I can make up a custom format if you like if you require a different short > description. If you could, that would be wonderful. When one manually uploads a file, the option to provide a short and a long description (which may or may not be different from each other) is given. I certainly think having VFileSyn mimic this and read in both a short and long description would be beneficial. Thanks for all of your help!
