Back in the late 90s and early 2000s, the east bay (510) BBS community morphed
into pigdog - first a physical zine and later pigdog.org. They would arrange
gettogethers known as TNIPNAB (Thursday night is Pigdog night at the Boondocks,
a waterfront bar in San Francisco).

After several raucous gettogethers, they were disinvited from future events at
the Boondocks, and moved to Zeitgeist, a bike messenger/biker bar in one of the
few sunny enclaves in The City. The Abbreviation changed, the group got older.
We all gained weight, got married, lost weight, and moved away. Someone would
invoke the TNIPNAZ charter when people were in town, and it became incumbent to
appear.

The charter stated:

1. The invitation must NOT be in the form of a question.
2. Any invite must have an ASCII pig and/or dog in the message body.
3. An offer to win a pig or dog is important. Must be present to win.
4. Guinness must be served. On tap.

We had a gettogether during Covid on ZOOM and another one when Mr. Bad(tm) was
in town recently.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of them has a backup of one of their BBSes
somewhere. I'd love to see some of the messages - we all thought we were Hunter
S. Thompson back then and had a Gonzo streak a mile wide.
